Marcus Parker is an internationally recognized lecturer, author, instructor, and an industry thought leader with 17 years of experience.He is currently an adjunct Professor at Trinity University in Washington, D. C. He achieved a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, and a Master of Science from RIT. He has published several articles in Department of Defense publications on Business Process Improvement using Lean Six Sigma and project management methodologies. He is also a content contributor in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) 5th edition chapter 8 on Quality Management. Marcus serves as President of the Project Management Institute (PMI), Silver Spring Maryland chapter which has 660 plus members. He is the recipient of the 2015 PMI® Chapter Leadership award and his board of directors won the 2015 PMI® award for collaboration and outreach.

Jason Houston is a Certified Project Management Professional (PMI-PMP) and PMP certification prep instructor with the ATEM Group. With over 100+ trained continuing professionals in the Washington D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area, he has a demonstrated keen ability of blending student real world experiences with core Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) principles to create a robust yet fulfilling learning environment. Jason is currently a Project Planner/Scheduler at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD, has a has a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems from Drexel University, and is a trained Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB).

Professional Bio

Tim, an instructor with the ATEM Group, is a certified PMP® with over 8 years of project management experience. He has worked in support of emergency management, operation, and acquisition facets of the Department of Defense (DoD) and private industry. Notable is his five years as senior level acquisition program analyst, where he collaborated with program managers to balance cost, schedule, and performance factors.

Tim’s greatest strengths are his creativity, drive and leadership. He thrives on helping others, particularly those individuals that are seeking to expand their knowledge of project management. Tim is currently a member of the PMI Baltimore Chapter and is always eager to recruit new members.

In 2008 Tim graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Towson University and is currently working on his MBA at Frostburg University. He lives in Harford County with his wife, and their two energetic dogs. In his free time, Tim likes to play golf and has traveled the country playing courses such as Pebble Beach.

Jon Smith is a long-time member of PMI and a certified PMP.  He holds a Bachelor’s of Music in Music Education from the University of North Carolina – Greensboro and a Master’s of Science in Computer Science from Florida State University.  He is the author of Keane’s Scheduling Curriculum and has authored seven textbooks, plus provided over one hundred technical articles, and has spoken at numerous conferences.
